Mr. Fuqua\'s commercial transaction experience was forged in the parking business. After working for a law firm following graduation from the Vanderbilt School of law, Mr. Fuqua worked in house for what would become the largest parking company in the world (Central Parking System). While at the company, Central Parking went public, made numerous acquisitions and purchased and sold real estate throughout the United States. Mr. Fuqua honed his commercial transaction experience while working on various transactions in each of these areas.
Mr. Fuqua then buttressed his legal experience in the business world. Central Parking plucked Mr. Fuqua from the legal department and promoted him to an operational position (Regional Manager and then Vice President) in Atlanta. There he learned the business of parking from coinbox surface lots to multi million dollar parking garages, from client development to P&L responsibility.
Since leaving Central Parking in 2002, Mr. Fuqua has maintained an active legal practice where he represents several parking companies and an active parking consulting business. A sample listing of clients for parking consulting includes HCA, Time Warner, Healthcare Realty Trust, Urban Realty Partners, Woodruff Arts Center and other parking asset owners. His consulting services have ranged from assisting in the conversion of free parking to paid parking and revenue enhancement opportunities, to the selection of parking operators and strategic analysis of parking assets.
Mr. Fuqua was awarded a B.A. degree in Economics from Clemson University and a J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law. |
